On Friday 10th May 2024 our Club once again were able to hold our Carcass Competition having been cancelled over the past few years because of Covid and lack of entries.
This year the Club held the competition at HG Blakes Ltd, Felthorpe, Norwich by kind permission of Mr. Andrew Clarke. There was a total of 23 entries which comprised of 18 Pure Suffolk lambs and 5 Suffolk Cross Lambs. The crosses were by a Suffolk Ram.
The Judge was Mr. Hamish Beaton assisted by Mr Ewan Cumming (AQM).
Our Club want to give special thanks to the Main Sponsor Chris Meekins Ruminant Nutrition Ltd.
The Presentation took place at 6 p.m. with Hamish and Ewan from AQM talking to members about their decisions and placing. Both were impressed by the quality and consistency of the Pure Suffolk and Suffolk sired carcasses on show. Chris Partridge thanked the Sponsors and Andrew Clarke for all their hard work in making it a huge success. Special thanks to Tom stocking for once again delivering all of the lambs and sorting them on arrival at the abattoir.
