Welshpool Livestock Sales are pleased to report a  successful show and sale of Pedigree Suffolk rams on behalf of the Shropshire & Montgomery Club. The best quality rams found an easy market with the rest finding it harder to sell, which was reflected in the average especially with the yearling rams as the average on the year was significantly up on the lambs.

The overall Champion prize was awarded to a ram lamb shown by P W Poole, Salopian Flock and sold for 920gns, The Reserve Champion was a yearling ram from A G Davies Hugmore Flock and sold for 800gns.

Yearling rams took the top price of the day from G V & J A Hardman Masbury 1,050gns twice and others at 900gns, 920gns and 800gns S C & C Walker Oxbrukheys 950gns and 800gns,  J Pryce Horton, 920gns, C Whitticase Glanmartin 815gns.

Top price lambs were from P W Poole, Salopian at 1,020gns with others selling for 820gns, 800gns twice and 650gns from TS & C Powell Mydlle, 620gns and 600gns from SC & C Walker Oxbrukheys and 580gns from D P & R A Delves Bridgeview.

Top price for an aged ram was from Tom Ashton Stapleton realizing 500gns.

Suffolk Ram Lambs average £518.82
