The eleventh annual sale was topped this year by the Lakeview flock of Stewart Craft. His first in the ring, sired by the 40,000gn Strathbogie Stallone out of a daughter of the 22,000gn Strathbogie Stradivarius, sold for 25,000gns jointly to Finn Christie of the Maidenstone flock, Aberdeenshire and Lilia Hutchinson of the Howgillfoot flock from Kirkby Stephen. The gimmer sold carrying twins to the 6000gns Kings Cross lamb.

The next best price was 20,000gns paid for Tom Boden’s third gimmer. She was bred from a ewe by Strathbogie Ace and sired by the 200,000gns Salopian Solid Gold, she sold scanned in lamb to Annakisha Champ to Messrs Watson, Millom, Cumbria who purchased another Sportsmans gimmer at 4800gns as well.
The Limestone flock belonging to Mark Priestley, Co Down sold a full sister of the current sire of the year Limestone Online for 10,000gns. She was sired by Castleisle A Kingsman and sold carrying a single to Ballygroogan Banker. She sold via video link to Northern Irish purchaser Andrew Hamill.
The Rhaeadr flock of Denbigh breeder Myfyr Evans had a great run of ewe lambs selling to a top of 9000gns for his first, a Dunfell Dynamite daughter, sold to the Tombridge flock and two Carony Cha-Ching daughters selling for 4500ngs to Clanfield and 4000gns to Dewi Roberts respectively.
Another Limestone gimmer sold via video link made 4000gns, selling to the Grant Bros for their Craigdoo flock from Co Down, Northern Ireland. Bred from a 6500gns Shannagh female by Limestone T-Rex and sired by Howgillfoot Batman, she is also due served to Banker and due with a single lamb.
The pick of the Howgillfoot flock sold to 7500gns, a daughter of the 25,000gn Frongoy Rocket. She sold carrying twins to the 28,000gn Castleisle Blackadder and sold to the Mullinvale flock from Donegal.
Dumfriesshire breeder Andrew Hambleton, Dovedale flock from Merkland, Thornhill, forked out 5500gns for Jim Innes’ pen leader from the Strathbogie flock from Dunscroft, Huntly. A gimmer daughter of Muirton The Joker, bred from a ewe by Castleisle Knockout that has produced ram lambs to 15,000gns and 13,000gns and gimmers to 6000gns, she sold due to 15,000gns Maidenstone Magician.
