As of the date and time of this post, this is position with regard to the Society 2020 Sales Season. These are of course subject to Government guidance and restrictions imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19.

At this stage, we will be holding all five of the Society Sales as scheduled. There are no plans for shows at the National, Scottish Area, N Ireland Branch Premier Export and Northern Counties of England sales. Irish Government guidelines may allow shows by the scheduled date of the South of Ireland Branch Premier Sale, as a result, holding a restricted show may be permitted within the guidelines. Vendors will be notified closer to the event.

Entry forms for all of the Society Sales will be available online in the next 2 weeks. Details on arrivals, inspections, social distancing measures in the rings and the pens will be communicated to vendors in advance of the sales. These instructions will be based on the most up to date information available and will be subject to change.

Finally, there has been some confusion with regard to the movement of livestock between N Ireland/Republic of Ireland and mainland GB via the ports of Larne and Cairnryan. It has been confirmed that the documentation and licenses required for the movement of livestock in both directions has not changed during the lock down period. There is therefore no substance to rumours that have been circulating recently that livestock cannot be exported from Scotland to the port of Larne in N Ireland.
