Arnie sticks his Oare in at the Royal Welsh 2024 winning overall Interbreed Sheep Champion!
With a record entry in the Royal Welsh Show 2024 the presence of the breed is becoming very impressive, and the judging of the Suffolk Classes is a stand out event and a credit to the breeders for their input and dedication to make it so.
The Chief Sheep Steward drew me to one side and said that the presence of such a number of quality Suffolk sheep was outstanding which is great in one of the biggest sheep population densities in the country.
Pat Greaney was the judge on the day, from Dyffryn Farm in Monmouthshire and set about his task in the glorious sunshine a bit of a rarity in 2024 commenting throughout on the difficult task that he had in front of him as the numbers and quality of the sheep on show was exceptional.
Arnold Oare’s breed Champion and female Champion on the day was Catalogue number no 6253 a very strong shearling ewe bred by Myfyr Evans (Rhaeadr) Flock book numberA12:23:02658 sired by Dunfell Dynamite, a single ET and owned and exhibited by Arnold Oare Groes flock.
Not only that Arnie took the male championship too with his Catalogue number 6219 again a very strong shearling Ram bred by Stuart Lathangie (Pyeston) Flock book number LVL:23:00923 sired by Sportsmans Masterplan a single AI and owned and exhibited by Arnold Oare Groes flock.
The reserve overall Champion was Catalogue number 6278 from Dafydd Jones (Frongoy) the Ewe lamb bred, owned and exhibited by Dafydd making it a full female set of overall champions for 2024.
