Club reports
 The 2020 Border Club Member’s Show will be held in
 Scottish Borders &   conjunction with the Border Union Agricultural Society’s
 Northumberland  Annual Show at Kelso, Saturday 25th July; judged within   Champion Female
 the current MV Suffolk timetable. BUAS stewards will be
 supported by Border Club committee to ensure accuracy   M Nelson (Rosepark)

 and the usual Border Club trophies and prizes presented

 should attract a greater entry to the Border Union Show so

 commercial breeder Robert Telford who married Vikki – and will ring   Reserve Supreme Champion  spirits in the Suffolk lines. Judged by Alex Gray, (whose respected
 this summer for popular Northumbrian couple Jennifer Nelson and   ‘Langside’ flock again enjoyed successful Shearling trade at Kelso
 CM Nelson, 2 crop Ewe (Rosepark)  Tup Sales), both Champion and Reserve were Female - quality,
       typey homebred ewes; Roseden & Lilburn’s – and Caroline Nelson’s
       Rosepark ewe which won joint Scottish Area Female of the Year.
        This Breeder pattern was repeated at Glendale (Wooler), a
       smart Roseden shearling winning from a strong Thrunton tup,
       then adjudged Champion by David Miskelly MRCVS, over a classy
       Rosepark ewe lamb.
        Stewart Shaw lifted the Interbreed Title at Berwickshire County
       (Duns). Here, whilst Rosepark monopolised the MV Championship,   ›  Duns Show: Charlotte Nicholson   ›  40 years of Rugley Flock: Alan Jackson
       Tom Darling, Alan MacKinnon and the Nicholsons supported this   borrowed ewe lamb ‘Katie’ from Rosepark  with Club Chair, Mickey Walton
       lovely local show and Belmont Farming Partnership took the
       Reserve non-MV Championship in a strong section.
        The Border Club sponsors the pre-sale show for Suffolk X ewe
       lambs at Harrison & Hetherington’s autumn “Principal” Sale, St
       Boswells, (22 pens of 50’s forward) where James Pate, Marvingston’s
       winning pen of ex Scotch HB ewes sold to the judge, Mr Battersby
       from Lincolnshire, for £135/ph, a figure matched by the second
       placed pen from Nesbit, Wooler. As usual, Jimmy Elliot ensured that
       Branton Eastside’s ex Mules were in great fettle, their two pens
       placing first and second, selling to Mr Bown from Anglesey.
        Malcolm Stewart’s Brotherstone annual on-farm sale was extremely   ›  Archie Herdman (17)

       successful. Locals selling well at Kelso included Roseden & Lilburn,   Youth Senior Champion
       Rugley, Northhouse, Brijon, whilst in the non MV ring, Allanshaws,   with Society President
